Tracy Raczek
Tracy Raczek is a climate expert with 25+ years of experience in the field. She provides policy analysis, net-zero strategic planning, and multi-stakeholder partnership-building for leaders of government, the private sector and civil society. A trusted international consultant with experience in over 50 countries, she is a recognized resource on diverse climate issues.
Specific accomplishments include:
- Provided strategic analysis on climate strategies for WWF, OGGI, Fia Foundation, Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Climate Emergency Collaboration Group among others.
- Advised United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in lead up to the Paris Climate Accord. As an early and core member of his climate team, she co-crafted the office’s strategy for the Paris Agreement; led in delivering over 30 multi-stakeholder initiatives in energy, transport, and commodities among others; and provided input to two Security Council Arria-formula meetings on climate and security.
- Advised two Presidents of the UN General Assembly as the team lead on sustainability and partnerships, contributing to resolutions and partnerships on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ocean health, and migration.
- Shaped high-impact initiatives such as the UN Global Pulse Big Data Challenge, installation of EV parking in UNHQ, and reducing UN emissions under Greening the Blue.
- Collaborated on climate solutions with Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), CDP, the World Economic Forum (WEF), Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), UN Foundation, Woods Hole Institute, Student Energy, along with multiple industry coalitions in shipping, rail, energy and commodities.
- Contributed substance and insights to dozens of climate reports including the IPCC AR6 WGII, Geoengineering Report by CSIGG, the New Climate Economy Report, as well as dozens of UN reports including on the SDGs, gender, finance, disaster risk reduction, and environment related security issues.
- Crafted dozens of articles, reports, and a textbook chapter on social dimensions of climate change, jobs, gender, and geoengineering that are oft-cited resources.
- Presented on climate policy, advocacy, and multi-stakeholder initiatives at Harvard Kennedy School on Climate Change, Columbia University, the Florida Chapter of the Sierra Club, and The Stanley Center among many others.
- Moderated live-streamed talk shows on sustainable transportation for the Paris Process on Mobility and Climate (PPMC).
- Interviewed by and frequently cited in national and local media, including CNN, Los Echos, DW, and Forbes, as well as on podcasts including the Electric Ladies Podcast and Experts Explain Everything.
Tracy holds a Master in International Relations with a focus on transboundary agreements and earned an award for her Thesis on security and climate change. She also holds a Bachelor in Political Science, a Minor in History and a degree in Secondary Education, with additional higher education on the science of climate change and environmental management.
